People tend to deny reality, it seems. Becaause appearently stupidity is more reliable than science.
1. Evolution denial
At the present far more evidence supports evolution than anything else. One could argue about the existence of a creator deity or not, but regardless of how life appeared it has ever since evolved. And indeed, the process of evolution, natural selection, is pretty much so obvious that only a lobotomised, mentally ill or blind person could not see it; ever since as early as Ancient Greece that people noticed it, and accepted the changes of the world as real. To add further to the injury, there is no difference between "macro" and "micro" evolution; scientists nowadays use cladistics, not taxonomy, and thus rely on genetics, not ill defined human made definitions, to classify organisms. And so it happens that the difference between a species and another is unclear. However, genetic and morphological change is still there, and it increases generation after generation.
But most importantly than to point out why evolution is an undeniable reality, there's also the need to point out why creationism is the opium of the retards:
1- There's no logic as to why abrahamic creationism should be real. First of all, its clear a mixture of creation myths from the middle eastern religions, second it is contradictory (see Genesis for yourself), as most of the Bible is (ence discrediting it as a valuable source of information) and third there is no evidence to support it other than the mental delusions of the creotards.
2- Most of what is considered "canon" by the christians is either not present in the Bible, contradictory or subject to an inaccurate interpretation. The usual date cited by the most mentally numb of the creotards as the beginning of the Earth, 6000 years BC, is not only not present in the Bible, but the result of an erroneous speculation by a catholic bishop in the middle ages; needless to say, this date is not supported by any methods off dating the age of the Earth, even alternatives to carbon dating. This also applies to many other details, like whereas the talking snake was Satan or not (it wasn't, further adding to the ridiculous).
3- It is patently absurd and to even suggest that such is more real than things suggested by science is a proof of mental illness. While the existence of a creator deity can't effectively be ruled out, biblical Yahweh is clearly not the one, as he was the hebrew god of war, and the Bible is essencially a book written by his worshippers to propagate his religion after the followers of other hebrew deities had been massacrated by the early christians and jews. Furthermore, it is rather sad that adult people believe in talking snakes, women being born out of ribs/bacchulum, and that all animals were herbivores, even species clearly adapted to hunting prey.
4- Other creation myths have just as much validity, for there as much evidence to support them as there is to support the fairy tale of Adam and Eve, yet christians consider them to be absurd and ridiculous. This is a sign of hypocrisy and stupidity, furtheer taking away credibility points from creationistic christians and muslims.
Thus, creationism is not true, evolution is. To say that evolution is not real is reality denial.
2. Global Warming
The Earth is clearly increasing in temperature, and climate patterns are becoming more erratic and chaotic. Whoever denies this is painfully numb to the real world, living in a bubble of fantasy that death must burst. The issue is whereas it is natural or not.
People who deny human influence over climatic changes cite historical examples, like a few mid-Neolithic increases in temperature, the fact that global temperatures were high enough to allow sufficient land vegetation in Greenland when the norse first set foot on it, and one or another unusual case. This is a reasonable argument, but it does disprove that mankind is affecting the environment.
To begin with, most of these cases were not extreme; rather, they were mild, at most only one or two degrees above the norm (we are not in the "norm", in case you haven't noticed). In fact, the natural tendency is for temperatures to decline, and far more cases of colder periods have been recorded than warm periods. But last of all, these changes, while lasting what amounts to far less than a second in relation to the total lifespan of our planet, were far slower than the climate changes we are having now.
Here's some evidence that supports the reasoning of why modern global warming is caused by man:
1- Modern global warming dates as far back as the industrial revolution, and since then the climate has increased, not decreased significantly at all, as would be expected from a natural product.
2- The modern temperatures are above two degrees of what is considered the "norm", something not present in most previous climatic changes.
3- Because of significantly higher than normal temperatures that are constantly increasing, there are natural disasters that have occured never before in the Holocene. Polar bears have their population at the lowermost levels than elsewhere in their evolutionary history. Coral reefs have not suffered this level of destruction since the begining ofthe Pleistocene. Summer rains occur in the borders of the Artic Circle, for the first time in millenia. The Amazon is suffering gradual and constant drying, that is predicted to end up in desertification a couple of decades from now. The same occured previously in the Pleistocene, but if was due to global cooling, and it not affected the whole area of the rainforest.
Most people who deny global warming as human influence are selfish, ammoral imbeciles who would rather allow the extinction of most species and the deaths of many people across the world than to give up on some luxuries of life. Then again, most people who try to solve global warming ignore less radical solutions, like adding more iron to the oceanic dead zones.
