Lord Shen probably already has 1000 different fan MTG card versions.

But how it does it?
When it comes into play? When the third artifact comes into play? When you tap it?

I think it is imediately after the third artifact comes into play.

Then it should read like:
Metalcraft - When an artifact comes into play, if you control exactly three artifacts ~ deals 6 damage to target player or creature.

The sole creature type of Bird seems a bit lacking. I looked up updated texts for the old Three Kingdoms cards and it seems like it would be more logical for Shen to be a Bird Advisor or Bird Soldier.

The phrasing on his new Metalcraft ability seems a bit awkward too. When is the 6 damage dealt? At the beginning of his controller's upkeep? When he taps? I'm not sure what's going on there.

"Bird Advisor" seems the most correct title, since soldier generally implies a lower rank than he actually wields.

The 6 damage thing was sort of an instant like ability, to be used once, but I think I will change it to +6/0.

I think Bird Warrior fits better.

I'd say +6/+0 would be a tad too much if it weren't for that fact that he's a 3/3 for 6. I could definitely see that working :)
